Remembering Those Who Served

We, too, born to freedom, and believing in freedom, are willing to      fight to maintain freedom”
                                                                                                                                       T. Roosevelt

Our mission is to raise funds and construct an LGBT Veterans Memorial in our nations capital. The funds raised in support of this project will be used to build a memorial at Historic Congressional Cemetery in Washington, DC. This memorial will be a visible and lasting testament to the contribution gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and transgender service members have made to the security of the United States.

In the year 2000 a memorial to all veterans and to GLBT veterans was dedicated in the national veterans cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona.  In 2001, the first memorial honoring LGBT veterans was dedicated in Desert Memorial Park, Cathedral City, CA. All veterans thank those individuals and organizations who have worked so tirelessly and through seemingly daunting challenges to make these important memorials a reality.  (See links page)

The National LGBT Veterans Memorial project is a tax-exempt organization under paragraph  501(c)(3) of IRS Regulations.
